For such type of outlining generally similar colored and same sized stones are preferred probably the most. See to that the coloring is made from alternate dark and light shades in line with the plants, so that when a very thick colored grass can be used then a light colored stone can be used. After this is made a still larger stones might be given an outline to prevent any mud or specks entering the decorated region.

River rocks provide a pleasant look when placed across the ponds and sort of fountains. They're mostly preferred to be placed across the water flow fountains with some plantations also. They create a nice finishing when added along ponds, however this require frequent water circulation to make certain that the formation of algae, bacteria are prevented.
